Reception Team- Mrs Scragg, Miss Dicker, Miss Spetch and Mrs Abel
We were invited to the opening remembrance ceremony at Staveley Hall All the children in Donaldson Class made a poppy out of a plastic bottle. These poppies are on display in the grounds of Staveley Hall. We caught the bus to the hall and we enjoyed meeting other members of the community and seeing a vibrant poppy display decorating parts of the Hall. We all enjoyed seeing our lovely poppies on display.
Father Ian from St John's Church in Staveley visited us. We learned that people go to church to pray, get married and christened and be part of the Christian family. Father Ian showed us what he wears when he leads different celebrations. We finished by painting pictures of him. Thank you for visiting Donaldson Class and telling us all about church and what you do.
As part of our topic 'Can I have a dog please?' the children talked about the pets they have at home sharing photos of these with everyone.
Our first week at school has been busy but lots of fun! The children have settled beautifully and have explored the classroom and outdoor area.
We are loving making ne friends and getting to know one another.
